Foyle Cup Report Newry City U14s were in the proverbial 'group of death' in this season's Foyle Cup with last years winners Hearts, National League runner ups Ards Youth,and a strong Donegal Select. Newry lost their first game to Hearts (who eventually went on to the final where they lost out on penalties to Celtic) but showed that they will be able to hold their own in next years National League when they bounced back to draw 1-1 with Ards. New Signings

Newry City are delighted to announce two new signings at the club. On the playing front, Alan Davidson has resigned for the club on a 1 year contract. Alan finished last season in excellent form and will be hoping to bring this form into the new season. Meanwhile, Pat McAllister is returning to the club as a first team coach. Pat has recent experience in management at Donegal Celtic and was a very popular player during his time with Newry. Once Pat became available, Newry manager Gerry Flynn was keen to add him to his backroom staff ...

The Newry City squad will be playing a trial game involving 10 Spanish players from the “Fundacion Marcet” at the Showgrounds on Thursday 29th July with a 7.45pm kick off.
