posted on Wednesday 28th July, 2010Foyle Cup Report Newry City U14s were in the proverbial 'group of death' in this season's Foyle Cup with last years winners Hearts, National League runner ups Ards Youth,and a strong Donegal Select. Newry lost their first game to Hearts (who eventually went on to the final where they lost out on penalties to Celtic) but showed that they will be able to hold their own in next years National League when they bounced back to draw 1-1 with Ards. New Signings
posted on Wednesday 28th July, 2010Newry City are delighted to announce two new signings at the club. On the playing front, Alan Davidson has resigned for the club on a 1 year contract. Alan finished last season in excellent form and will be hoping to bring this form into the new season. Meanwhile, Pat McAllister is returning to the club as a first team coach. Pat has recent experience in management at Donegal Celtic and was a very popular player during his time with Newry. Once Pat became available, Newry manager Gerry Flynn was keen to add him to his backroom staff ...
Trial Game
posted on Wednesday 28th July, 2010The Newry City squad will be playing a trial game involving 10 Spanish players from the “Fundacion Marcet” at the Showgrounds on Thursday 29th July with a 7.45pm kick off. You can find out more about the Fundacion and their training and development methods on their website at http://www.fundacionmarcet.org The Spanish players will be playing alongside Newry players with 5 Spanish players on each team. Meanwhile, last Saturday 24th July, Newry played out a 3-3 draw in a friendly game with Warrenpoint. Newry's goalscorers were Matt Hazley and Paul Keenan (2). ...

However, the squad will instead be playing a trial game on this evening involving 10 Spanish players from the “Fundacion Marcet”.
